FAQ

How do I get started?
• Send a commission request via email to MeyowStudio@gmail.com including the following information:
– Size of the piece requested
– Type of pet
– Number of pets in the portrait
– Background color preferences
– Any special shipping option request
– Email to send an invoice via PayPal

I sent a request, when will I get my piece?
• Work on your piece will not begin until I respond to your request and the invoice for the piece has been paid in full. The invoice will state the comission turn around time.

What is a commission turn around time?
• A commission turn around time is the time frame it takes to start and finish work on your piece based on the queue of current projects and commissions.

Which pets can you draw?
• I mostly get requests for portraits of cats and dogs, but I am able to draw any animal. Once I respond to a portrait request, I will ask for reference photos of your pet.

How many reference photos will you need?
• I typically like to work with at least 1 to 3 photos of a pet minimum. I will ask for those via email when I respond to your commission request.

Will the finished piece look exactly like my pet?
• All portrait pieces are artist interpretations based on reference photos.

How many hours of drawing time goes into a portrait?
• Depending on the size and complexity of the portrait it can take anywhere from 4 hours to 10 hours of drawing.

Can I get updates as you are working on my pet portrait?
• If you are interested in seeing works in progress, you can visit my Instagram page. I will post pictures of commission pieces as long as the person commissioning the piece agrees to sharing progress pictures.

My commission turn around time ended and my portrait isn’t here yet!
• The commission turn around time is the time it takes to finish your piece and does not include the shipping time. Check your email for a tracking number for the piece.

Are returns or refunds accepted?
• Due to the nature of custom work, I cannot accept returns or refund requests.

What type of shipping do you use?
• Pieces are shipped via Media Mail with a tracking number. If you need expedited shipping or a shipping option with additional insurance, please let me know when you make your request.

What should I do if a piece is damaged in shipping?
• When I ship the piece, I will package it in a sleeve made for art pieces as well as an extra stabilizing board to protect it during shipping. If damage occurs during shipping, please file a report directly with USPS, especially of you have chosen a method of shipping with added insurance.
